I’ve launched a YouTube channel to share videos of me flying microlight aircraft.
‘Rory On Air’ already features a collection of short films documenting my first flights as a qualified private pilot, with new videos being added every week or two.
My aim is to share the pleasures of flying for fun, and to promote microlighting as an affordable, safe and comfortable way to enjoy the sky.
I began my pilot training with Mainair Flying School on the 1st of September 2016 and passed in July 2017. I received my NPPL paperwork from the Civil Aviation Authority in August and since then I’ve been enjoying taking family and friends on trips around the North West of England from my home airfield, Manchester Barton.
The National Private Pilots Licence allows me to fly two seat microlight aircraft in UK airspace during daylight hours and good weather conditions.
I’ve wanted to fly since I was about 6 years old so it’s a real privilege to finally be able to say, ‘I’m a pilot’!
